International Editorial Board

The International Editorial Board of E-Publishing is comprised of student leaders from our member institutions. These leaders are chosen for their vision, enthusiasm, innovative thinking, proven leadership, and dedication to The Triple Helix and The Triple Helix Online. Together, they ensure the continued success of our initiatives by overseeing chapter editorial boards and various inter-chapter operations.

Edgar Pal | Executive Editor

Edgar Pal is a student majoring in economics and public policy studies at the University of Chicago. He is in his third and final year at the College, as he plans to graduate one year early. He joined The Triple Helix as a writer in Fall 2010, writing about a diversity of topics spanning science education and Harry Potter studies. He was appointed Editor-in-Chief of E-Publishing at the UChicago chapter in Spring 2011, serving for one year before taking on an international role. As the Executive Director of E-Publishing, he hopes to encourage our blog contributors to produce a variety of online content and promote the exploration of new forms of web journalism. Outside of The Triple Helix, Edgar has served as a staff researcher for the Chicago Policy Research Team, a policy think tank staffed by undergraduate public policy students. He has also organized events for UChicago’s undergraduate economics research society.

Venkat Boddapati | Senior Editor

Venkat is currently a fourth-year student at the University of Chicago majoring in biological sciences. He joined The Triple Helix in 2010 as a writer and now serves as a Senior E-Publishing Editor.

Fili Bogdanic | Senior Editor

Fili Bogdanic is a junior at the University of Chicago majoring in Biology and minoring in English Literature. A dedicated lifelong bookworm, reading and writing are two of her favorite hobbies along with traveling. She joined The Triple Helix’s UChicago chapter in the fall of 2011, first as a writer for E-Pub then as an associate editor. She now serves as a Senior E-Publishing Editor.

Irene Ching | Senior Editor

Irene Ching is a senior at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. As a Managing Editor for TTH Georgetown during her junior year, she edited e-pub articles and worked with other board members to strengthen TTH’s presence across campus. She is excited to utilize social media to promote online readership and to bring TTH’s E-publishing ventures to greater heights in the upcoming year. She aspires to be a dentist one day because she loves how dentistry is a beautiful mix of science and art. In her free time, she can be found making ceramics, cooking, or relaxing at the beach.

JaeKwan Jang | Senior Editor

JaeKwan is a senior at Cornell University, majoring in Government, with a focus on international relations. He joined the Cornell Chapter in 2010 and continues as a Senior E-publishing Editor at Cornell University. He hopes to put renewed contribution to Cornell Electronic publication during his last year by publishing articles of combined insights from political governance, economics, agriculture, and public health to address the social issues from a more eclectic perspective. During his pastimes, JaeKwan enjoys painting, archery, and studying the esoteric arts.

Evan Jin | Senior Editor

Evan Jin is a third-year student majoring in chemistry at the University of Chicago. Evan joined the E-Publishing Division of the UChicago Triple Helix in the fall of 2011 and wrote a year-long column on connections between sports and disabilities. He decided to write this column after helping guide a visually-impaired runner through the 2011 Chicago Marathon. The runner was also a Paralympic hopeful, so Evan decided to spend his first year in E-Pub writing about athletes with disabilities in the lead-up to the 2012 Paralympic games. Evan is also a member of the events team at the UChicago Triple Helix and looks forward to planning a joint event with the UChicago Classics Society next fall on medicine in the ancient world. Outside the Triple Helix, Evan likes watching sports and follows the New York Jets and the New York Yankees in his free time. He is also a big soccer fan and supports Arsenal in the English Premier League.

Arthur Jurao | Senior Editor

Arthur Jurao is a senior at Georgetown University, having successfully managed to acquire enough credits to move ahead one year. He is majoring in Neurobiology with an unusual minor in Art History, and although he aspires to conduct research in neuroprosthetics and archaeology, he ultimately hopes to become a heart surgeon. He recently joined the new chapter of The Triple Helix at Georgetown during the 2011-2012 academic year as a Managing Editor, and contributed to the expansion of the organization on the Georgetown campus with an energy he plans to bring to future E-Publishing ventures. He considers himself to be a passionate philosopher, and has a fondness for learning new languages and different martial arts.

Prathima Radhakrishnan | Senior Editor

Prathima Radhakrishnan is a third year at the University of Chicago, majoring in biochemistry, and the biological sciences with a specialization in neuroscience. She is also minoring in English and creative writing. After reading books like Janine Benyus’s Biomimicry and Thomas Friedman’s Hot, Flat, and Crowded, Prathima became interested in combining biomimicry, which draws inspiration from nature in the creation of new products and materials, with a positive, progressive form of environmentalism. This is what she writes about for the Triple Helix. When she’s not thinking or writing about science, Prathima sings, daydreams, enjoys bookshops and the books within them, and writes science fiction-fantasy.
