  • 3:50 PM: Daniel M. Choi j: promoting undergraduate awareness of recent events; separate from the biannual journal –> diversity into interviews, live blogging, youtube, debates, etc. response videos (haha could be fun)

  • 3:51 PM: Daniel M. Choi social science tying into e-pub: more recent discussions

  • 3:52 PM: Daniel M. Choi @Zain I think there’s some chapter issues you have that you’re bleeding into the international structure, just FYI

  • 3:53 PM: Daniel M. Choi j: recruitment effort on campus; proving to potential writers who can get something out of it; always have new content, stagger cycles between chapters; category experts: profs to guest contribute articles maybe schedule some regulars. column writers, anyone? :)

  • 3:54 PM: Nsesh @Daniel I think his idea was that web presence lends itself to deepening the soc. science integration…

  • 3:55 PM: Nsesh things just got real! The words “intellectual property issues” and “patent disclosures” were uttered. serious, serious music plays in the background…

  • 3:55 PM: Daniel M. Choi @nandita, daniel: i think it’s a difference between assuming certain things about chapter org and people’s backgrounds and establishing a standard vision for the concept of epub (jen)

  • 3:56 PM: Daniel M. Choi we can get paid to be poor that way! (Daniel)

  • 3:59 PM: Mira RSS + E-pub = instant updates. But how does it work?

  • 3:59 PM: Daniel M. Choi RSS: scripting code whenever there is an update; feeder takes initial posts to a “reader page” so that people don’t have to go to multiple places.. I think. correct me plz (jen)

  • 3:59 PM: Nsesh RSS 101: en.wikipedia.org

  • 4:00 PM: Daniel M. Choi daniel’s embarrassing, eating his own words now

  • 4:01 PM: Mira Sharing info = popularity

  • 4:02 PM: Daniel M. Choi Concern: We should not be using CNN as a model for news dissemination–we lose a lot of credibility as an academic journal.

  • 4:04 PM: Daniel M. Choi maybe cite these news sites as “things going on” but actual commentaries, the insights and perspective of writing can come from academic sources, ie. profs, primary sources, etc. (jen(

  • 4:05 PM: Daniel M. Choi *economist

  • 4:11 PM: Daniel M. Choi @faculty review: creating instrastucture for editing process

  • 4:17 PM: Daniel M. Choi concern: making sure information is accurate resulting from faculty review

  • 4:21 PM: Nsesh the concern is that the integrity of the editing cycle won’t uphold in the sphere of online media

  • 4:22 PM: Nsesh julia: but we have to remember that it’s the same dedicated, intelligent, honest and aware members who belong to the organization–the integrity will not suffer

  • 4:22 PM: Daniel M. Choi board of advisors input: impractical?
